Chuck Olson
Chuck Olson, a lifelong Holmen resident and 1967 graduate of Holmen High School, has spent his life building businesses, supporting his community, and raising a family rooted in strong values. Following high school, he attended Western Technical College part-time, balancing education with early work in the grocery business for the Sacia family and Skogen family. While working for the Skogens, Chuck met his wife, Ardene, whom he was married to for 48 years.
In 1971, Chuck launched into entrepreneurship as the youngest fuel distributor ever contracted by Mobil Oil Company. His entrepreneurial drive continued in 1976 when he and business partner, Ray Hale, opened Interior Designs in Holmen. Just a few years later, Chuck founded Midwest Products in 1983. He successfully ran and eventually sold the business in 1994.
Following the sale of Midwest Products, Chuck received his license as a realtor and soon began a career in real estate. Today, Chuck and his three children, Ryan, Damon and Jillian, operate Coldwell Banker River Valley, Realtors. Chuck is also the proud grandfather to six grandchildren.
Chuck’s history with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater La Crosse dates back to 1984 when he first got involved through his sons’ participation in Club athletics. Seeing firsthand the positive impact the Club had on area youth, he became a passionate advocate and long-time supporter. Chuck served on the Club’s Board of Directors and on the steering committee to help raise funds to open a new Club in Holmen.
Chuck has always prioritized giving back, serving on numerous Boards and associations. He also dedicated 20 years to the Holmen Area Fire Department. Chuck’s contributions have earned him numerous honors including the SBA Small Business Person – Wisconsin Region Award, La Crosse Chamber Chairman’s Award, Holmen High School Wall of Fame Award, La Crosse Area Realtors Wall of Fame, and the La Crosse Area Development Association Distinguished Service Award.
His legacy continues to be one of leadership, service, and community devotion.
