Professionally, Dirk has built a successful career as an entrepreneur and business leader. He began his career with Katz Metals in 1999 and has remained a key part of the organization’s growth, serving as President since 2014. In addition to his work with Katz Metals, Dirk founded DRS Properties in 2001, which he sold in 2021, and co-founded Air Insanity Trampoline Park in 2018, later selling the business in 2022.
Dirk’s connection to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater La Crosse runs deep. Growing up on the north side of La Crosse, he was part of a family with a long-standing relationship with the Club. As a child, Dirk spent countless hours participating in programs and athletics, building lasting friendships and developing values that continue to guide him today.
That early connection came full circle as Dirk returned to the Club as a coach for his children’s teams, mentoring youth and sharing the same encouragement that he once received. Dirk’s involvement expanded when he joined the Club’s Board of Directors in 2006, and he continues to serve on the Board today. As Board President from 2019–2020, Dirk helped guide the organization through the opening of a new Club in Holmen while also helping navigate the uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic.
In recognition of his leadership and service, Dirk was honored as an Outstanding Board Member by the Boys & Girls Clubs of Wisconsin.
Dirk and Lisa are the proud parents of two children, Cullen and Simone. Together, they prioritize family and instill in their children the same values that have shaped their own lives.
From Club member to coach to Board President, Dirk’s story reflects a lifelong commitment to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater La Crosse. He continues to strengthen the organization and ensure that future generations have the same opportunities to grow and succeed.
