Phil Quillin

Phil Quillin was born October 14, 1936 in Waukon, Iowa to Ed and Greta Quillin. Phil attended Holy Trinity Grade School and graduated from Aquinas High School in 1954. He attended Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa, graduating in 1958 with a degree in Accounting.

 

Phil has been an active participant in many civic and business organizations throughout his career. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Food Marketing Institute (International Grocers Group), Wisconsin Grocers Associations, First Federal Savings Bank. He is also Chairman of Fleming La Crosse Retail Senate, a member of FMI idea Exchange Share Group and FMI Independent Operators National Committee.


In 1981, Phil was selected as the Parade Marshall for the Oktoberfest Maple Leaf Parade. In 1984, he was appointed the Riverfest Commodore, representing the City of La Crosse in various parades and festivals in the area. In 1991, he was the recipient of the Bishop John Paul Distinguished Alumnus Award, and in 1992 received the Spheres of Influence Award given by the Franciscan Skemp Foundation.


Phil Quillin’s involvement in other organizations include…Honorary Chairman of te La Crosse Health Consortium, Past President of the Rotary Club. Past President of the Aquinas Foundation, Past President of the La Crosse Convention Bureau, Executive Director of the UWL Sports Spirit Group, Member of the 1986 UWL Wall of Fame, Past Chairman of the United Way, member of the La Crosse Area Chamber of Commerce, and a member of both the Franciscan Skemp Hospital Board of Directors and Franciscan Skemp Foundation Board of Directors.



Phil and his wife Barbara, have two children, Mike and Sue, and two grandchildren, Kyle and Casi.
