All graduating seniors with past Club involvement are eligible to apply for these Higher Education Scholarships. 
Applications are due Friday, April 1st 2017

To apply for scholarships download the 2016 SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION. Instructions are given on how to complete the application and submit via mail, e-mail or fax. It is required to have had some Boys & Girls Club connection in order to receive a scholarship. The Club will be distributing several scholarships to area students at the Celebration of Champions banquet held on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at Logan High School.

Brian & Paula Soller Leadership Scholarship
Established by Boys & Girls Club Alumnus Brian Soller, this scholarship honors area youth who have demonstrated leadership qualities as both Club members and high school students. Brian was the Club’s Athlete of the Year in 1986 and also served as a Boys & Girls Club staff member during his years at Logan High School and Viterbo University.

David Pierce Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship was established in memory of David Pierce who died in May of 2002. David was a model Boys & Girls Club member as a youngster, and remained active in the Club’s Alumni Association over his adult years. The Pierce Memorial Scholarship is presented annually to students who show outstanding leadership potential.
George Nixon Scholarship
Established in memory of George C. Nixon, this scholarship is for entering freshman or a currently enrolled full-time undergraduate student in any major area of study at UW-La Crosse. Nixon was the driving force behind starting a Club in the La Crosse area and was one of the first to be honored as a member of the Boys & Girls Club Wall of Fame in 1986.

Jim Loken Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship was established by the Boys & Girls Club Alumni Association in memory of Jim Loken. Jim was a former Club member and an active basketball official for the Boys & Girls Club/McDonald’s Classics. In addition to his wife Mary, he is survived by a son, Thomas, and a daughter, Rose, both Boys & Girls Club Alumni. Jim was a true role model for Club members with his professional style and great personality.
Art Petersen Memorial Scholarship
 This scholarship was established by Brad Lapic, BGC Volunteer Coach, in memory of his brother Art Petersen.  Art's daughter, Tessa, was an active BGC member who was awarded the 1st annual memorial scholarship in memory of her father. 

Terry & Sue Erickson Family Scholarship
Established by the Terry Erickson Family, this scholarship honors area youth who have demonstrated leadership qualities as both a Boys & Girls Club member and as a high school student.  An original member of the club, Terry us best known as "Coach" to hundreds of members and alumni who participated in athletics at the Club.  Terry and his wife, Sue, have five children: Josh, Jake, Jessica, Jenna and Jordana.  

Lommen Family/McDonald’s Youth Achievement Scholarship
This scholarship was established in 1989 by the Dick Lommen Family. The McDonald’s Logo appears on the uniforms of most of the basketball teams and all Youth Developmental athletic programs. McDonalds also sponsors a total of five Club basketball tournaments. In appreciation for his support, Dick was inducted into the Boys & Girls Club Wall of Fame in 1989. Dick’s wife, Cherry, is also a current member of the Club’s Board of Directors.

Don Kish Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship was established in memory of Don Kish, former member and President of the Club's Board of Directors.  Don was  inducted into the Boys & Girls Club Wall of Fame in 1986 for his tremendous contributions to the Club.  Don's sons, Steve and Scott, have continued to support the Club, and were also inducted into the Wall of Fame in 2003.

Michelle LaRoche Memorial Scholarship

Friell Family Scholarship
Being from La Crosse, as well as an advocate for the local youth, Bruce and Barbara Friell have set this scholarship to help a Logan High School graduate who had involvement or a relationship with the BGC.  Bruce and Barbara have two daughters who graduated from Logan High School and attended, as well as worked, at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater La Crosse.
