Barb & Bud Hammes Rotary Scholarship

This scholarship is valued at $10,000 for up to four school years, thanks to the generosity of Barb & Bud Hammes.
Applicants MUST attend a local college (Western, Viterbo University, or UW-La Crosse)

Higher Education Scholarships:

Our Higher Education Scholarship Program offers a range of awards (from $500 to full tuition) to support high school seniors who are currently or previously involved with the Boys & Girls Club. These scholarships are made possible by generous community donors.
Applicants MUST be a high school senior attending a 2 or 4 year post-secondary education

Rotary Scholarship Criteria

The recipient should demonstrate a financial need for this scholarship per academic year with the knowledge that it will only provide support if attending a local college.
The recipient must have a current or past affiliation with the Boys & Girls Clubs for 3+ years.
The recipient must be a graduating senior with a 2.0 GPA or higher and demonstrate the ability to succeed in higher education.
The recipient should have demonstrated leadership qualities, both as a Boys & Girls Club member and as a high school student.
The recipient should have made notable contributions to school, family and community.
The recipient may need to attend and speak at various BGC/Rotary events throughout the year.
The recipient must be willing to participate in a local Rotary mentoring program and develop on-going relationship with that Rotary Club.
The recipient must submit a FAFSA annually.
The recipient must participate in mentoring/academic success programs through college they attend and agree to a BGC staff to communicate with academic advisor to monitor progress.
The recipient must maintain a 2.0 GPA or higher per year at the school they attend and be a full-time student.
The recipient must complete any application requirements for this scholarship that are established by the BGC.

General Higher Education Scholarship Criteria

The recipient should demonstrate a financial need for this scholarship with the intent of helping them attend a college, university, or technical school, who might not otherwise be able to do so.
The recipient must have a current or past affiliation with the Boys & Girls Clubs.
The recipient must have an average grade point and demonstrate the ability to succeed in higher education.
The recipient should have demonstrated leadership qualities, both as a BGC member and as a high school student.
The recipient should have made a notable contribution to school, family and the community.
Selected scholarship recipients may be required to attend a BGC recognition event.
