The Boys Club was beginning to grow as Jake became the Board President in 1968. During that time, the list of supporters increased and the programs began to develop.

Jake has always been involved in numerous civic activities and clubs. This leadership was recognized in 1962 as he was selected as “Man of the Year” in La Crosse. His involvement in the real estate business brought him Realtor of the Year honors in 1965 and 1968.

Hoeschler’s other civic involvements include: Past President of La Crosse Symphony, Past Member of the La Crosse Board of Supervisors, a past active member of the Chamber of Commerce, and past supporter of the United Way.

Athletics has always played an important part of Hoeschler’s life. He was a star athlete at Central High School where he participated in football and track.

His interests in football continued as he served a two year term as President of the La Crosse Quarterback Club. He was named “Quarterback of the Year” in 1967 in recognition of outstanding service to the club and for his backing and promoting of athletics in the city of La Crosse. He is currently an active member of the Super Senior National Tennis Group.

Jake’s commitment to the Boys and Girls Club has continued through the years as he has been a significant financial backer. He pioneered the concept of the memorial giving as a way of remembering someone special with a gift to the club. His generosity has stimulated others to give in this way.
