Terry Erickson

Terry Erickson has been a vital part of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater La Crosse for over 40 years, serving as a coach, mentor, friend, and leader. Terry began his involvement with the Club as a teenager both as a member and part-time staff. In 1967, he was named to the position of Coach Counselor where his responsibilities included coaching, supervising, and implementing a variety of athletic programs and special events. In 1970, Terry was appointed to the position of Athletic director for the Club. Under his leadership, the athletic programs at the Boys and Girls Club flourished, and still remains one of the most respected Boys and Girls Clubs athletic programs in the country. In 1974, the Boys and Girls Club Board of Directors named Terry as its Executive Director, where he served until his retirement in 2007. Terry was the face of the Club for 40 years, one of the longest and most successful tenures of any Boys and Girls Club of America Executive Director. Under Terry’s leadership, the Boys and Girls Club grew from one Club in a rented warehouse and church space, to the six clubs currently operating in the La Crosse area.

Terry and his wife, Sue, were married in 1970 and have five children (Josh, Jake, Jessica, Jenna, and Jordy), and seven grandchildren.

It’s safe to say that the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater La Crosse grew and prospered under Terry’s leadership to become one of the finest Clubs in the Midwest Region. He is respected and loved by the thousands of youth that he served and it is an honor to recognize him as the 2010 Wall of Fame Inductee.
