Barb Binsfeld

Barb was born in Red Lake Falls, Minnesota. When she was 14, her family moved to Chicago where she attended Marywood High School. Barb obtained a Bachelor as well as Master of Science degrees in Speech Pathology from Marquette University. As a speech pathologist, Barb started her career with CESA, a shared service educational provider to rural school districts. After the arrival of her third son, Mike, she dedicated her time to raising a family. In the succeeding years, Barb could often be spotted traveling between Congregational Church Nursery School, Cathedral School, Aquinas, and the Boys and Girls Club in a station wagon with the license plate reading, “4 BRATS”. During those years, the Boys and Girls Club was a focal point for the Binsfeld Family. From t-ball through endless athletic banquets, all the Binsfeld children were solid Boys and Girls Club members. Barb became an integral member of the Club’s leadership team when she became one of the first female members of the Boys and Girls Club’s Board of Directors. She was a dedicated member where she managed the auction, the summer horse show, and many other major fundraising events. In 2004, Barb received the distinguished “Women and Youth Award” from the Club. Today, after raising 5 children, Barb is now spending much of her time traveling the world with her husband, Tony, and occasionally watching her grandchildren. She continues to be a wonderful friend and supporter of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater La Crosse.
