Anthony Binsfeld

Anthony Binsfeld was born in La Crosse in 1951. He was raised on the south side of the city, attended St. Thomas More Grade School, and Aquinas High School. He then attended Marquette University, graduating in 1973 from the School of Civil Engineering. At Marquette, he met and courted Barbara Savard, and they were married in Chicago in 1974.

After graduation, Tony was employed by the Construction Aggregates Corporation, a large marine civil works contractor. He was assigned to their Central American Division, based in Dominica, and spent two years engaged in part construction projects throughout the Caribbean Basin.

Thereafter, Tony rejoined the family business, J. F. Brennan Company, and has been continuously involved there. Along with many others, he has been responsible for corporate expansion in the construction, barge transportation, environmental remediation, and rail markets. In 2017, he was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Western Dredging Association, a professional organization representing marine specialists throughout the western hemisphere. He is now in the process of turning corporate leadership over to the next generation of the family.

Tony is a past president of the Aquinas Foundation, and serves on the Viterbo University Board of Trustees.

Tony first got involved in the Club when his children were young and started playing in Club athletics. Today, he is the proud grandparent of fourteen grandchildren. Tony’s involvement remains strong as his grandchildren now get to experience the same benefits of Club athletics that his children received. Over the years, Tony Binsfeld has played a huge role in the success of the Boys and Girls Club. The Club is forever grateful for Tony’s commitment to our community and the youth we serve.
