Paul and Melissa Borsheim

Paul is a proud member of the 1987 graduating class at Logan High School. Upon graduation, he went on to attend UW-Stout, where he graduated with a degree in Construction Management. Paul spent 10 years as a Project Manager for TCI before taking a leap and starting his own company, Borton Construction, with founding partner, Doug Stanton.

Melissa spent her high school career at Onalaska High School graduating in 1988. She then attended UW-La Crosse where she majored in Business Administration and minored in Human Resources. Melissa graduated from UW-La Crosse in 1994 and spent 10 years working for State Bank of La Crosse in the Human Resources Department.

Paul and Melissa met while Melissa was working at State Bank and Paul was there doing a remodel project. 11 months later, they were happily married. When Paul started Borton Construction, Melissa decided to also take a career detour and manage Borton Construction office and accounting. Today, Paul and Melissa are proud parents of Matthew (18) and Claire (16), and Borton Construction is busy building and renovating commercial building all over the Midwest.

Paul and Melissa started their Boys and Girls Club involvement when Matthew was 4 years old and was enrolled in T-ball. They quickly realized the benefits of having their children in Club athletics. Both Matthew and Claire played in Club athletics until aging out and now participate in high school sports. While their children were growing up in Club athletics, Paul and Melissa’s involvement grew as well. Paul coached while Melissa helped organize team schedules and fundraising. Through these efforts, Paul and Melissa both developed a strong passion for the mission of the Boys and Girls Club. They witnessed several youth that were facing challenges and believed in the importance of working with these youth as mentors.

Paul and Melissa have both been very involved community members. Paul currently serves on the Boys and Girls Club Board of Directors, as well as the Board of Directors at Mayo Clinic Health Systems in La Crosse. Melissa currently works to assist Logan High School with fundraising efforts for athletic teams and other activities and is also a mentor in the Club’s Be Great: Graduate program. In addition to supporting the Club, Paul and Melissa are also supporters of St. Patrick’s Church in Onalaska, Logan High School, Viterbo University, and many other agencies in our great City. Other past involvement for Paul and Melissa include Big Brothers Big Sisters, (formerly) Family Resources, La Crosse Public Education Foundation, (formerly) Myrick-Hixon Ecopark and the La Crosse Promise.
