General Higher Education Scholarship Criteria 

  • The recipient should demonstrate a financial need for this scholarship with the intent of helping them attend a college, university, or technical school, who might not otherwise be able to do so. 
  • The recipient must have a current or past affiliation with the Boys & Girls Clubs. 
  • The recipient must have an average grade point and demonstrate the ability to succeed in higher education. 
  • The recipient should have demonstrated leadership qualities, both as a BGC member and as a high school student. 
  • The recipient should have made a notable contribution to school, family and the community. 
  • Selected scholarship recipients may be required to attend a BGC recognition event. 


Rotary Scholarship Criteria 

  • The recipient should demonstrate a financial need for this scholarship per academic year with the knowledge that it will only provide support if attending a local college. 
  • The recipient must have a current or past affiliation with the Boys & Girls Clubs for 3+ years.
  • The recipient must be a graduating senior with a 2.0 GPA or higher and demonstrate the ability to succeed in higher education.
  • The recipient should have demonstrated leadership qualities, both as a Boys & Girls Club member and as a high school student.
  • The recipient should have made notable contributions to school, family and community.
  • The recipient may need to attend and speak at various BGC/Rotary events throughout the year.
  • The recipient must be willing to participate in a local Rotary mentoring program and develop on-going relationship with that Rotary Club.
  • The recipient must submit a FAFSA annually.
  • The recipient must participate in mentoring/academic success programs through college they attend and agree to a BGC staff to communicate with academic advisor to monitor progress.
  • The recipient must maintain a 2.0 GPA or higher per year at the school they attend and be a full-time student.
  • The recipient must complete any application requirements for this scholarship that are established by the BGC.
