Explore Healthcare: 

In this program members will explore a variety of healthcare professions through interactive activities and conversations with medical students from UW-Madison. This program helps teens discover the many exciting opportunities available in healthcare with real training equipment and supplies, while also learning how to advocate for yourself as a patient.

Explore Engineering: 

A hands-on learning program designed to inspire members to explore careers in STEM. In partnership with Trane Technologies, participants collaborate with industry professionals, tackle engineering challenges, and bring ideas to life through engaging, project‑based activities. The program builds creativity, teamwork, and confidence while inspiring the next generation of innovators and engineers.

Explore  Construction:

This program focuses on foundational skills such as safety practices, proper tool use, material handling, and basic construction techniques. Teens will complete practical projects like tote boxes and step stools while learning essential math, layout, and cutting skills facilitated by the Carpenters Union 1143. The course emphasizes teamwork and provides a clear pathway into trades.

Explore Podcasting: 

Teens will gain real media experience through creating a youth-led podcast alongside local media professionals. Participants will have the opportunity to interview accomplished community leaders and create high‑quality content from start to finish.

Up Next: Work Based Learning: 

Up Next prepares teens for their future by combining career exploration, skill‑building, and meaningful mentorship. Members gain practical tools and experiences that empower them to set goals and move confidently toward them. This program is for teens who are thinking about applying for their first job.

  • Dates: March - May
  • 10–12-week sessions
  • Participants create a weekly schedule with supervisor
  • Must be a regular attending Teen Center member to participate

After School Support:

High school students are invited to drop in and enjoy a quiet, supportive space to focus on homework, apply for jobs, prepare for interviews, and plan their future goals. Staff are available to help, and snacks are provided to keep you energized while you work! (No link)

Makerspace: 

Kids of all ages can explore different lab spaces in the Workforce Center while taking on quick projects and challenges that encourage design, problem solving, and creativity.
